About the Historic Society

Founded in 1967, the Lowndes County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Valdosta and Lowndes County. Housed in the historic former Carnegie Library, our museum features nearly 10,000 square feet of exhibits, archives, and interactive displays that bring the stories of our community to life.
